i know just how much ignorance is out there, i have had people ask similar questions, one that i will never forget is "snakes are elastic like right, because when they strike, the get like 3 times larger." that was a hard one to tell otherwise, he would not believe me! this is gonna be a huge flop at the movies and i'm just not sure how it will affect people, that's all

Anyone consider the possibility of the "Finding Nemo" phenomenon that may result from Snakes on a Plane?? Remember how every kid that saw Nemo wanted a "Nemo" of his/her very own?? Scary.

I'd have to agree with Earthguy on this one. I don't know how many people I've talked to that believe everything they see on the movies is real. I have a feeling this movie will just increase the negative stereotypes of snakes. People will see the "deadly kingsnake" and recognize it from the movie. A lot of people will also see that movie and think snakes really act that way.

Mostly i agree that not too many will take it all that seriously, after all, "it's only a movie". But having said that i also wanna say, Feed What You Love. If you wanna see more of that type movie then buy tickets so the producers will make sequels....Really, if you wish intelligent discourse about something we all seem to care alot about, hot herps, then i can't see how supporting this type of flick can help.
In other words, boycott it quietly and it will die. Like the nonsense it looks like it is.
And i too have noticed what a drama-queen National Geographic has turned into. I guess it sells more advertising cause it'll sell more tickets. And that's what it's all about.
Steve
PS, if you just gotta see it then remember it won't be that long before it's on cable...LOL
