CroFab antivenom is a Polyvalent, which means that it is made from a combination of snake venoms, and works on many North American pit-viper envenomations.
The Western Diamondback Rattlesnake is one of the venoms that are used to make this antivenom, so it would be what is used if you are bitten.
Hope this helps. JohnZ

If you ever get bitten by that C.atrox, be sure to have your ER doctor consult with Poison Control, preferrably, Arizona Poison Control. Don't ask why, just trust me on this.

Chris, I found this thread, just at a time when I had been asking a lot of questions here locally, about the availability of crofab, and the question of expertise on venomous bite treatments, and if nothing else, it has made me doubly cautious about bites.
Even with a large university medical school combined with a county hospital, I find no one that claims much experience with the new fangled polyvents, and after thinking about the cost and shelf life of it, they would not want to store it anyway,so I would just like to have my own protocol in place so I could tell them what to do,or I could find myself at the mercy of a really frustrating situation that could have needless consequenses!
