oh yeah- i never said anything about typing errors. i don't really care about them(obviously!LOL)
don't really know why you called me out. all i did was say that you are being a moron for tailing that gaboon like that, and then expecting us to take you seriously. this coming from the same guy who wants to hybridize popes and whitelips... neat

Atrox, Doont try to use the excuse "adults do it" to justify not haveing it. Being an adult or kid has nothing top do with it! It is true that adults do it too. But im not worried about them, or am i using it as my excuse. But i did go to a keepers place. (30 years exp). He showed me some things but im still looking hard to volunteering places. And as far as maturity goes, i am mature. I no i aruge this post. Because its about ME. Lucky has no business saying "MOST" of the stuff he said. And i think you no that. Its just me and my mom in the house. The room IS secure very well. I made sure of it. nothing can get out of the room. IF it gets out of thecage. i have the cages locked like Alcatraz.

I no you didnt say anything about typing erros, because i do them ALOT also. The only reason icalled you out (sorry i explained on my last post) is taht i seen one right away. not a big deal. and you got affensive which is y everyone is beating on me. And for callin me a moron for tailing my gabby? Just say it was wrong, or stupid,ect.. not call me a moron. Like i said i was aware of the riskes and everything. i wont do it again. and i think its cool that you want to hybridize popes and white lips. if its your interest i have 1.1 white lips, and .1 popes
I just think that lucky wanted to sture something up about underage keepers. he hasne replied back once since we were in the teens now were in the 30s (posts) Everyone has typing errors lucky just to show you, and they have rights, and everything you have on this site. Im not here to make enemies, im here to learn and MAYBE buy in the futuer (now). I also posted an alert about that albino boa scam just trying to warn and help you guys out.

the problem seems to be that the minors on this site feel like they have to speak out on every issue and throw their 2 cents in. for a change, just shut up, watch, and learn. maybe elder keepers get annoyed because of the usual defensive posture a minor takes when he/she gets questioned.

mdsmith. the youth speak out alot to learn. and i think you statement is posted towards me. Which this ad is posted towards ME. So dont tell younger herps to shut up unless they did something wrong. its like you jsut said, YOU threw in your 2 cents and that didtn help at all. im just tired of the older folks talking bad about the younger generation. We put our 2 cents in to learn (mainly i no i do) but this ad is differant i put moer than my 2 cents in because like i said its about ME. not anyone else so just dont say for us youngins to shut up. we are learning. and we are the future. we need to learn some way and this is the best site. But lucky hasnt posted any question at all but this one critizing me.

young guys, remember, there are actually decent people in this hobby without their head so far up their ass that they can't see daylight. they aren't the ones telling you that you are committing sins by not following their rules. sure, you should comply with your local laws just to avoid more stupid legislation, we have to play their games, but if you decide to do what you want, remember the decision carries even more weight.
saying young people aren't capable is like saying black people or short people aren't capable. at 14, i'd already been through more than most go through in a lifetime. i could handle a venomous snake. there are plenty of others like that. teens nowadays aren't like teens of even 20 years ago. you go through more, you make more important decisions earlier in life, you have more pressure on you than ever, and the info is more available. i graduated at 17 and was running my dad's multi-store company. wasn't a problem. i had been driving a 3000lb, 360hp car for nearly 2 years that i also put together from the frame up. i was more than capable of keeping venomous snakes of whatever species i was comfortable with. as long as the person is mentally stable and really understands what danger a bite could pose, and that all snakes are different, they're fine. most of us learn on the fly and that's fine. the dick attitudes and older guys who want respect more than they want a safer hobby are getting old.
you either help or hurt them, so just help them. why do the hobby anymore harm? everyone does it their way and will ultimately do what they want.
if my 5 year old wants to keep hots in another 10 years, i'll fully support her.

And you will have no problem looking at her tailing a neonate gaboon knowing that any minute she can receive a lethal bite???
As I said I believe there are responsible kids but before anyone (young or old) will start keeping the deadly snakes he/she has to make sure that there never will be "just this one time". That's why I'm questioning the level of responsibility in this case.

Well, it was kind of hard to read out any point you were trying to make but the fact remains. If you do not have AV at your disposal you are not following protocall and you are not being safe. Period!
How you can you argue that? How can you defend not having the only thing that could save your life if you animal bites you? How?
People who keep domestic animals CAN rely on a Hospital because that is basicly the only way to obtain AV for domestic species and nearly every hospital carries it. Only Zoological establishments and venom reserachers carry exotic AV as a norm. They need the AV for themselfs, not to cover some nit wit keeper who didnt taker the proper steps.
12 yrs old or 60, the fact remains taht if you dont have a reliable source to provide you AV in case of a bite you have no buisness keeping.
Deny it all you want but it is the truth and you would know it if you are so "Mature".

You make a great point Jeremy (I also appreciate the commen earler). The zoos shouldn't have to supply a hospial wih their own anivenom because an irresponsible keeper recieved a bite and then they themselves are shorted in case of an emergency. Im just saying, when I begin keeping venomous, i will have he anivenom on hand just in case aking chances like that are not ones Im willing ot take. Oh! And as far as the "escape proof" room (A.K.A- Alcaraz). Have you ever heard of the men who just happened to escape alcatraz and make it out of he San Francisco Bay. They even made movies on it. This just goes to show dont be so shure your room is snake proof, they can and will find a way to escape, so dont kid yourself.

Ok well this topic is getting rediculous and im adding to it.....again. The last comment about anti venom from zoos and the alcatraz crap caught my attention. As far as anti venom in a perfect world we would all have it but it's not readily available to the public and the stuff that is available would take you mortgaging your house to get for some of us. On top of which alot of species don't have anti venom at all. As far as the "snake proof room" i have seen them and have one myself. Most are not completely fool proof but some are and its very possible to make one. Cinder blocks and cement seem to stop snakes pretty easy.
