cottonmouth never said profanity was used, he only said "foul language". i.e. """""Men like you tend to think and talk with their"little snake" instead of their brains anyway""""". that is foul enough for me. i don't know the guy offering the african trip, but i do know roger (naja oxiana) and i greatly value his opinions. cottonmouth, on the other hand, is a close personal friend of mine and i believe he only intended to comment on how this discussion started out and the fact that you originally posted anonymously. i can't speak for others, but i don't practice e-mailing hate-mail, and besides, you don't have to include your e-mail in your profile. now, that said, i think i'll go get drunk (it's friday) and play with a rattlesnake.

if your actually a member of SHHS your last comment violates the mission statment(if you care)

I also believe that rodger is a knowledgeable individual and a sincere herptohobbist. Probrably a good cook as well and I have valued his insite on certain herp issues. Intelligence invokes conversation which leaves you out, at least according to your last statement...

That was intended as a joke, based on previous opinions you expressed to roger. I enjoy a drink once in a while, but i never mix it with snakes. You take things too seriously, you should relax. Maybe you should warm a bar stool once in a while. It might make you a little more sociable. Maybe I'm wrong, you just seem so ready to explode at every little comment that You mis-interpret.

Well,what started in a good natured offer has turned into a nasty fight.I am truly sorry to all involved and would also like to add my 2 cents worth.I think we are all fault a bit and should not be ready to jump at each others throats the first opportunity that we get.I got defensive and it snowballed into a huge fight involving many innocent parties.To set the record straight on a few things.I think everyone should have a say,whether they are black,white,male,female,young or old.We don't have to appreciate everyone's point of view,but we should at least give them the chance to speak.Drinking and snakes mixed are bad.I do drink and I do handle snakes,but never at the same time.To bag on someone just because they warm a bar stool from time to time is not right.We are fighting amongst ourselves when there are so many things we have in common and can benefit so greatly from these forums.I have friends in South Africa that are brilliant herpetologist,but do not have access to the internet.They would literally kill for such a powerful resource and yet we bicker about spelling.Please people,lets call a truce and play nice...okay.By the way,the South Africa trip will involve sundowners and a few beers here and there after a hard days/nights herping,so don't say I did not forewarn you.All the best

again, I agree this post has lost all constructive purpose...and I am definatly(although inadvertantly at first) in part to blame from the very begining, and I did apologize to Donald, and things were settled...But when someone else chimes in, I will without hestation opinionate my views right back when addressed to me.
and I'll give you one...your right...when I'm tired I can't type either...
OK, can we please be done with this post, we've wasted enough energy, lets get back to hot herps, huh?

I must admit Sierra; that the comment you made adout a man little snake got me fired up and instantly defensive towards you. I don't like the womans movement and I certainly don't like women visiting the forum and referring to a mans genitals in negative way. Good luck at Hamburg; Jeff Quarles
