Is there anyway to tell by the size of a snake (roundness) How many babies they will have???? Or does that have anything to do with it? Also I have a huge gravid copper that continues to eat,she looks like she is going to bust. How unusual is that? I didnt think gravid snakes ate much. Should I continue to feed her if she wants to eat?

Hi Ray, I really don't think one would be able to tell how many babies a snake would have by size. It may have just a few babies with allot of unfertalized yolks to drop, or she may have allot of offspring. Yes I would continue to feed her if she is willing to eat. This will allow her to be good and fat after giving birth so she will not have to work as hard restoring body fat that is necessary for survival through the winter. Hope this helps

I just got a N.copper three days ago and the nextday it ate and yesterday she gave birth to 5 little babies!!!
but my other that poped 2 weeks ago stoped eating a month before...
so depends on her..
oh and I did notice a bit of roundness in my girls but its mostly a destended belly full of babies that can shift around alot and kinda make you worry but thell be fine...
