Makes me ashamed to say I am from Limestone County. I don’t know these 2 Idiots, but they have surely mad the People of Limestone Co. Look like Stupid & Brainless Rednecks.
I still do not understand why they did this.

out of all the guys, only justin barnes' number worked out but he claims to be a different justin barnes, although the woman who answered the phone sounded giddy that i was going to "do a story on the recent cottonmouth hunt for a small outdoors magazine"
i believe he's the guy, but doesn't claim to be, so ehhh...
i figured i could get a few funny soundbytes out of it...."did you abuse family pets as a child?" and "are your parents brother and sister or first cousins?" lol
oh well, maybe next time

my coworker told me he knew justin barnes (i'm also convinced that the above number is correct) and lived next to him for a while. he said they went out of town one weekend and came back and found their dog dead, shot 7 times with a handgun. he said that justin claimed the dog had gotten off his LOGGING CHAIN and then messed up some stuff under his home (pipes, etc) and he had to shoot it, but a different neighbor said he had led the dog into the wood with a piece of steak after he had taken its chain off, and then shot it and simply left it there......
so, sounds like mr. snake killer is a bit deranged and into animal cruelty

What are the collecting regs? This was an obvious case of hunting, not being under personal threat or danger. If someone caught but didn't kill but took home, what would the opinion of fish and game be? They therefore could be prosecuted under both animal cruelty and wildlife collecting laws. At least the snakes would still be alive if herpers collected them.

they don't care around here, the motto is "the only good snake is a dead snake"
i actually called the fish and game office and asked if it was legal and they said that they didn't know, and then i asked if they at least needed a hunting permit for this, and again, they don't know. these guys are as dumb as it gets concerning reptiles........they described a tortoise as "that turtle thing that lives only on land"
they literally don't care about the well being of herps

Ricky is right, the Fish & Game here don’t know squat about the Laws on the Books, much less anything about the Reptiles that live here in North Alabama. I have heard Game Wardens refer to Hognosed Snakes as Spreading Adders “ I Actually Ask A Warden About The Eastern Hognose And The Idiot Said What??? ” considering this Species is Protected in Alabama, you would think they would know the Name, if not how to Identify it.
So you see, these Idiots know nothing that they should know.
BGF, these Fools care less if someone Kills 100 of these so called Moccasins. Because they see it this way, it makes their Fishing Holes Safer. I mean these Bad Ugly Old Snakes Will Chase You And Kill You “LOL”. I swear, I have never seen a more Incompetent bunch of Twits then what we have here in Alabama.
