Hi guys, my panamint rattlesnake is constantly climbing up his cage. He is perfectly healthy, very alert, eats and drinks very well. Weird thing is this guy is CB, but he climbs up his cage and trys to get out more than my WC rattler. He has a 10 gallon terrarium, he is about 20 or more inches long, he has 2 hide boxes, and a few rocks for decoration. Does anyone know why he is constantly climbing up his cage? Thanks, and have a great day.

Our panamint LOVES to climb...sometimes you have to read them to figure our what's going on. Also, temps, etc. play a critical role - you didn't mention what your gradients are. A constantly active snake is a snake that finds its habitat (cage) not meeting all of its vital needs. Do a thorough check.

The cage is usually at a constant 80 degrees, about 90 on the warm side, and around 75 at night.
