Rereading my reply, I can see where someone might think my comment about a plastic snake was negative.
Not at all.
The plastic coral snakes that were offered for sale by the folks from Kissimmee/St Cloud were VERY real looking and I know several people picked them up for display purposes.
They were the best quality replica snakes that I have seen anywhere.

Karl, if the folks at St Cloud are selling replica snakes that look that realistic, I want one !
There have been many times when I did not have a live Coral Snake for display at a lecture. Or, I had a live animal that was gravid, or in shed, and I did not want to stress them. Most of the replica snakes I have seen were not painted all that well.
Perhaps they have finally learned that the small details like the black markings inside the red markings are needed to make a realistic looking model?
I sure hope so, and I hope that they make a larger version that would be more the size of an adult Coral Snake.
It would be a very good thing to have on hand for Educational use, considering just how problamatic live Coral Snakes can be.
Best Regards John Z
