SHHS Banquet at Columbia ???

Those of you who attended the Columbia Repticon Venomous Reptile Show last fall probably remember it as a great show.
You also probably remember that the SHHS had a Banquet on Saturday night following the show. Todd Poole and the Repticon Team set up a great catered BBQ Banquet at the Jamil Temple following the show.
Karl Betz was honored for his long time support of the SHHS.
There were drawings for door prizes, and in addition to the excellent food, we had Thomas Eimermacher give an excellent talk on the new Science of using mDNA in Reptile Systematics the study of Biological Diversity.
Folks are asking if there will be a Banquet this year.
Todd will not be able to attend this year, so we are looking for folks who might be able to help this year.
The main thing we need to know for now, is do we want to try to have a Banquet again this year at the Jamil Temple ?
If we do, would folks be willing to pay for the BBQ Dinner ?
We would probably need to do sign up sheets and collect the fees in advance, so that we would be able to tell the BBQ folks just how much BBQ we will need.
Is there anyone who would be willing to help set things up?
Is there anyone who lives near Columbia who might be able to help pick up the Banquet food and supplies ?
Does anyone have any ideas about who might be available as a guest speaker for the event ?
Time is short on this, so, we need to hear if folks are interested in doing this again for Saturday night following the reptile show.

I could do most of it. Everything but the speaker. We do not have a special speaker for the show, So I would have no idea who everyone would like to hear. I might could even get some money from different folks to help pay for stuff. That way maybe it would not cost to much. I would also have to contact the Temple to see if we could use the room. And if there is any charge for it. They did donate it to us last year.If that is what everyone wants.
The show looks very good as far as vendors. We have everything in order for the show so this will not be a problem for me.
I would need to know no later than October 24th who all would be coming so we could figure the charge.
Just let me know.

If I'm not absolutely dead-broke, I'll make it to the show, and if I can make it to the show, I can sure appreciate a BBQ banquet! I guess you can count me in, although my financial situation is subject to change, so nothing is set in stone.

Charles will be contacting you tomorrow about helping.
The idea of having a BBQ at the temple again seems to be popular if we can reserve the space. He lives near there, and knows of several BBQ places in town that we might could get to cater the thing.
Several of us tonight have discussed a guest speaker, and have a couple of good folks in mind to contact. I will contact you by EMail tomorrow about what we have in mind, after I make a few phone calls, and contact a few folks.
