Interesting that those of us who really live in redneck country, including me, are not offended. I live in Pahrump, 90 percent of houses are mobile homes, some on wheels, it is sunny so we have red necks, we own guns, we love redneck jokes here. I don’t live in mobile home, but some of our great sweet neighbors do, so what?

I think the snakes were likely legal also.Murder in no way is funny .Liveing in a place does not define your actions. This is a tradgidy even worse than my spelling .There was a remark made about trailers witch did no get deleted that I thought funny. So I ran with it .It is good you stopped me I was going to run with this all night. But one mans humor is anothers insult so I digress.

The trailer is discussed in the article.
I don't object to discussion of it.
I do object to conjecture about inbreeding as relating to being a redneck living in a trailer in Texas.
There is nothing in the article to lead to that kind of nonsense.
I understand that lots of people enjoy that kind of "humor".
I just don't think it belongs here.
I have lived in a trailer and spent summers barefoot because I couldn't afford shoes except for church. I come from working class people and have no problem with that.
But some things are just over the top.
Sorry if that seems a little heavy handed.

I agree with Karl.
When Zuzana posted the article earlier, I found it a bit funny, and responded with what I thought was a bit of humor and sarcasm about how the article was written.
Despite the fact that someone was shot, the stuff about the scared of snakes small town cop, and the multiple shooting, and the fact that it was in a trailer just seemed like the steriotyped southern humor that we hear all too often in the news here.
There was nothing in that post that was intended to insult anyone who still lives in a trailer, as many here do. I have lived in and owned trailers. That is way I can find them funny.
I have seen Jeff Foxworthy on several occasions, and never have found any of his jokes about trailers, or southerners, or rednecks to be offensive at all. I find that type of humor, of poking fun at oneself to be funny.
Folks should chill a bit, and not take things too seriously. What kind of forum do we have here, if we can not make a joke from time to time, and have to fear being politically correct all the time ?
While the purpose of this fourm is about venomous snakes, a bit of humor from time to time among good friends here should not hurt, and sure should not generate posts that have to be taken down by the site moderators.
Best Regards

Being legal would depend on two items; did the person have a Texas Permit for keeping the snakes? Was the person in compliance with local ordinances? If "yes" on both, the animals were legal to have. If "no" on either....

Well, if Karl Buzztail is correct and if most houses are mobile homes there, why does it make news it was mobile/trailer built in 1989, other then for rednecky feel? I mean, shouldn’t a brick house make news in that area instead???
Anyway, this is murder, the snakes had nothing to do with it, yet they made sensationalized headlines. Unless they knew their legality status…
Z (I have no brothers, so NO incestuous joke Karl, but I totally love Jeff Foxworthy) ;-)

Before calling it murder do a little reading . Most "experts " have said for years that if you depend on a .22 for defense , and have to use it , fire till it's empty . The reason they give is that this little caliber doesn't have a lot of shock power when it hits . ( I don't agree , I've seen some big animals killed , cattle for one , with this round )
