"there could be no captive born without wild caught" No I think your right, as snake are inherently "wild" Just my opinion, buy what you want

David I agree about what you said earlyer I remember when there was no captive born.Times change but new blood will always be needed.I try hard in these times not to judge any one.At one time I was a commercial collector now I still hunt and collect wild snakes but few and only a couple target species and if I only get one a year I am happy.

The San Antonio show is always worth the trip. Randal puts on a top-notch program and there is usually a good selection of herps and other items to peruse. I think that many times folks come to a show with something in particular that they want and are disappointed if they don’t find it at one of the booths. We’ve all been there, that really does not translate into a “poor show”. At San Antonio I usually walk off with something even if I came only to sell. Glades, Gila Ranch, VPI, Bob Clark and a number of others are usually on hand so the variety is nice. Granted that there are some shows where the pickings are a little slim it seems, but that’s a sign of the times. The nice thing is that you can usually talk with one of the better vendors and if they have something that you are indeed looking for, they’ll bring it for you to pick up….no shipping. The more we spend at these, the better the selection gets as this only bolsters more reputable vendors to make an appearance. All in all…. It’s a great show. And…… where else can you pick up these sweet little captive-bred/proven feeder mangrove snakes???? (sorry, had to)

Thanks for the overwhelming response!
I will be SC bound for the November Columbia show.
On a side note are many of the vendors set up to accept credit card payment on site? I'm afraid the Hamburg show completely drained my folding money for the next few months. Hate to get there, find the animal of my dreams and not be able to bring it home with me.

Jackie, many of the smaller vendors do not take credit cards.
A few of the larger ones are set up for that.
Also, there us usually a ATM machine at the show in the food court area. Perhaps that would help.
Best Regards
