Ok king cobra Dude aka snake eater I take it you want a lizard still.Truth is they stress easy require uv light and live a very short time period. Not a good handleing pet at all.For some one who wants a completely hands off animal with a rather short life span then they are nice. That is why I keep snakes.Long lived. What happend I thought you wanted a tegu.

I'm definately not a Chameleon expert, but for what its worth...
My girlfriend and I share responsibility for her male Veiled Chameleon (which I believe is the cheapest you can find, our CB baby was $30 from FLChams). In my opinion they are definately NOT a starter lizard.
They require a large (4x2x2)cage as adults, UVA/UVB lighting, daily or twice daily misting, live feeder insects, calcium suppliments, and as Archie mentioned they don't like to be held...
They are beautiful animals to look at, but if you want something to interact with; I would go with something else.

I wanted a Tegu but they get to big to fast so I am trying to find a lizard that I like I am really picky and I can't help it because if it is not very interesting then I get tired of it and sell it and I dont find very many many things interesting.

If you want personality, manageable size, energetic and quite interesting I'd look into acquiring a Yellow Ackie. Much cheaper than their Red counterparts and are tons of fun to watch.
If you get bored with an Ackie then I'm afraid you'll find most lizards boring.
Plenty of good information available through a Google search which will give you the information you need to be successful.
Good luck!
