How can u tell when a snake is gravid?

I have two colorado
sidewinders that are
very fat, bigger then any
I've caught or
photographed, I am
wondering if their gravid.
How can u tell?

Travis,
This is the time of year that you would expect to find gravid rattlesnakes. As far as knowing for sure, you could have a X-ray or Ultra Sound done at a vet clinic.
Or, you could just wait and see what happens with them.
If you provide us a clear photo of them, it would be a lot easier for us to tell if they look gravid or not.
You can email a photo of them to me at jzegel@mindspring.com if you like. Or, you can upload the photo to your profile here. It will need to show the snake from above, with it stretched out, and the photo must be sharp and clear.
