Who else is getting up there next month? It'll be the first show I've been to in a few years.

Nothing would please me more than to load the zoo herp dept. into my Subaru and take them on a field trip to a really good Southern show [with some really good Southern herping on the side]. What are the actual dates in March?

The dates are March 13-14. Unless the weather drastically changes, there's not going to be any "Southern herping", mot if that means field herping. This has been-and still is-the coldest winter on record for this state. We are still having night temps way below freezing and daytime temps in the upper '30's and '40's, low '50's if we are lucky. Most of SC has missed out on the snow, except for the northern counties, but we have had our share of ice storms. I just don't see any herps coming out of hibernation/brumation anytime soon, and it wouldn't surprise me if the populations of our native reptiles haven't taken a pretty big hit from this prolonged cold. We didn't even get our usual late Jan. "thaw" this year. I'm crossing my fingers that the weather does not interfere with the upcoming March show, since it's not that unusual for us to get snow and/or ice in the middle of March.

I am going to try and make this one. I am looking for something specific, and may be able to find it there.

Can't help it - I'm an incurable optimist. Actually I was kinda hoping the dates would be at the end of March, but Riverbanks is always a good side-trip option as well.
