I would like to go to Arizona for the spring time and collect rattlesnakes for their venom. Do you know places that will buy the snakes and/or venom? Do you know any places that would be better than others for collecting purposes. ( I don't want to hurt the snakes, I just want to collect them~milk them~then let them go into the wild. Thanks.

1.) No, nobody will buy venom from you. The regulations regarding venom for anti-venom production are strict.
2.) You have no certification or ANY reason to harrass rattlesnkes in the wild or collect venom for ANY purpose.
3.) It is likely illegal to collect large ammounts of native species to sell. You will certainly need to confirm that with Arizona F & G.
4.) For what point and purpose do you wish to collect venom for..?
No, you will not likely make a penny..
Pretty strange idea to me.. But, to each his own, I guess. I suggest you contact Arizona Fish & Game Commission.. See what they have to think about it.

Also might be worth adding that not many credible people here will encourage going out and risking injury to yourself and wild snakes, by harrasing rattlesnakes by milking venom for NO purpose..
Care to elaborate on what you planed on doing with parishable collected venom..?

This question is asked so often in so many ways it is a wise thing to learn to read old threads. The pure risk factor to snakes is just to high for such an adventure. It seems to me Donald has a new fan.My suggestion would be fill in your profile a little better. If you read a little you will see that what you ask is just a little silly or alot silly.

the purpose would be for researchers and people making anti venom~ so if someone were to get bit be a cotton mouth they'd be able to have an anti venom near by. ( these things don't make themselves and should probably be accessable by the mass population,) (I would sell the entire snake if you were interested. BUT THE MAIN PURPOSE IS TO NOT HURT THE SNAKES IT IS TO MILK AND SET FREE~ BACK TO THE WILD~~~~ please respond with positive things~ I am aware of the dangers of venomous snakes. ( I don't want to hear that this can't be done) ~ I want to know how to make it real~ There are people who do this! Do you have their phone number or a way to get in contact with them. ( if you have nothing nice to say please do not say anything )

I am saying that folks do not randomly run around milking snakes without a direct and immediate purpose or need to.
YOU will not be producing anti-venom, correct ?
YOU do not have thousands upon thousands of dollars in lab equipment do you?
YOU are not certified for the production of FDA-regulated medications (Anti-Venom).
YOU do not have a certified facility in order to legally extract, collect, the venom in? One that is a pharmaceutically-grdae facility to meet the strict conditions required to even EXTRACT venom for medical purposes, do you..?
I feel your intentions are noble..
It's just a dumb idea..
If you answered "no" to any of the above
questions, than forget it..
The research institutions that conduct this type of research do not need your help. They have more than enough venom, and most collect their own..
They will not even buy venom from you. That is unless you represent a qualified institution..
Sorry, the truth hurts..

Joe, there is no market for venom that is collected outside of a lab.
Also, what you want to do would be illegal for most of the rattlesnakes found in Arizona.
Please read this thread from last week, as it answers you question quite well.
