Reply by MattHarris on June 27, 2003 Mail this to a friend! Hatchlings that are only a FEW Days old were shown to be devoid of Toxicity in a study done by J.M. Gutierrez, B. Lomonte, et. al. This was published in Toxicon back in 1990. However the hatchlings had the highest coagulant effects on plasma and the venom of bushmasters undergoes significatn ontogenetic change with age.
