This thread is a continuation of an observation regarding working venomous without shoes on.
So, I would like to know:
Of the people who work with venomous, how many have been bitten on the foot while working with venomous?
Of the people who work with venomous, other than in a professional workplace, how many work venomous with boots on?
Of the people who work with venomous, other than in a professional workplace, how many work venomous with shoes on?
Of the people who work with venomous, other than in a professional workplace, how many work venomous while barefoot?

Because I don't want anyone to feel out of place, I will post my own answers first...
Of the people who work with venomous, how many have been bitten on the foot while working with venomous?
I have never been bitten by a venomous snake (or lizard).
Of the people who work with venomous, other than in a professional workplace, how many work venomous with boots on?
I do not wear boots to work with venomous (except at work).
Of the people who work with venomous, other than in a professional workplace, how many work venomous with shoes on?
I (almost always) wear shoes when working with venomous.
Of the people who work with venomous, other than in a professional workplace, how many work venomous while barefoot?
I have, on rare ocassions, worked venomous while barefoot.

Never been bitten by venomous reptile.

I do not wear boots

I work with leather work shoes, typically. I have on rare occasion worked around the house with flip flops and at least one occasion I can remember barefoot.

On occasion working in my house.

My answers are pretty similar..

No..
Of the people who work with venomous, other than in a professional workplace, how many work venomous with boots on?
I do usually wear my boots, but probably only because I almost only wear boots, at work and in the field..
Of the people who work with venomous, other than in a professional workplace, how many work venomous with shoes on?
I wear boots/shoes when working with venomous stuff 97% of the time.
Of the people who work with venomous, other than in a professional workplace, how many work venomous while barefoot?
I do, on occasion, work venomous while barefoot, while at home, and doing some of that mundane maintainance-related stuff. Unless it's a very large pitviper, or large, flighty elapid, I generally feel that this is safe to do..
The only thing that I probably wouldn't do, would be post footage of that in a video.. True, I really don't feel that it is too big a risk.. I simply know how fanatic the anti-snake (anti-pet, period!) groups are, and how ANY little detail is used to make us venomous keepers look like nutcases. We have probably ALL gotten those reactions before..
"Are you NUTS?!" Type of thing..

I've never been bitten or had a snake bite my shoe (is that what you meant to ask) but I've had a few come uncomfortably close to my shoe.
I occasionally wear boots.
I always wear at least shoes.
I can't swear that I have never, on even one occasion, handled venomous without shoes, but I don't remember doing it.
Not a direct answer to one of your questions, but I have had the leg of a pair of jeans prevent a bite from a Jameson's Mamba, so while I understand the suggestion by another poster that shoes will not prevent all bites, I know it doesn't take much to prevent SOME bites.

I have never been bit by a venomous snake
I do not work with boots on unless I am tin flipping or hiking in the field looking for them
I do not wear shoes.
I do wear flip flops or bare feet while working with my captive snakes.

Of the people who work with venomous, other than in a professional workplace, how many work venomous with boots on? Only when on a rattlesnake den and there is a chance I may not see the snake.

Of the people who work with venomous, other than in a professional workplace, how many work venomous while barefoot? I have been road cruising the soft, sandy South Georgia roads barefoot, but I have shoes in reach if needed. Sometimes I forgo the shoes for the odd copper or pygmy.

Of the people who work with venomous, other than in a professional workplace, how many work venomous while barefoot? The only time I am barefoot is in the shower or bed. I do work hots in sandals all through the warm months which is pretty much the same

a) I personally have never been envenomated via the foot. I have had snakes drop from the hook and hit my shoe with a strike. I know of one accomplished professional that has taken a bite to the foot while working snakes. I know of another who had a coral snake drop into a rubber boot (while being worn). My staff is expected to wear reasonable footwear.

a)At home I normally wear lighter shoes (sneakers or other). This is more of a medical issue as I personally cannot wear heavy boots.

a)Most of the time. Venomous snakes are a "loaded .357 with brains" no matter where they are housed.

a) I am guilty of working snakes barefoot, bare-legged....
