No, it was a spelling error I meant to say that the person who started this wrote Tommy a letter saying the snake was beautiful. No one wrote me a letter. Sorry about that. However, artificial selection and altering animals for captivity is really not as big a deal as you people are making it I own and know people who own morphs and venomoids they live in the perfect climate, get food water, go to the vet, they are treated like gold, it's not a big deal. In the wild they get parasites, disease illness, removing there venom glands is kind of like a trade off but I don't think it's unethical if I seen my snake suffering or debilitated because of the surgery I would be adamantly against it but I just don't see that he seems fine and everyone seems happy.

Also I agree with him in that morphs and venomoids get more people into reptiles and puts more reptiles in captivity and in private hands and everyone benefits. It's really not a bad thing. Removing the fangs not that would be horrible because they use they to eat and thats just cruel but jut removing that glands its not so bad I don't know what you people are getting soworked up about.

Everyone seems capable of expressing themselves without the use of profanity except the original poster.
Tommy, the profanity will stop or the thread will end.
Simple as that.

Why do we love venomous snakes? If venom wasn't a factor in the attraction, why would anyone chose a hot over a non-ven? If the venom is part of the interest, why remove it?
For me, this hobby is about the animals, its about having a piece of nature in my home that I can observe and enjoy. The venomous snake is an amazing creature, varying in fang type, venom type, hunting methods, patterns, size, etc. I want to watch the effects of young pigmy venom on a salamander, I want to see a rattlesnake ambush prey from her rock hide, I want a WHOLE animal that I don't have to wonder if its behavior is altered because its body is. Snakes are still wild animals. You compare devenomization to spaying your cat, but cats and dogs are domesticated. They are typically free-roaming in your house. Snakes are not. Given the right housing,
procedures, and handling, there is absolutely NO danger to those around you (neighbors). You are touting venemoids as the ONLY responsible way, while that is simply not true.
The responsible thing is to leave wild animals
alone if you don't know how to handle them. Do not try to turn venomous snakes into domestic animals.
Lastly, there is always risk involved in any type of surgery. Certainly, there are places adept at performing the surgery, but your lackadaisical attitude is likely to encourage more backyard butcher jobs than anything.

Kris B. Was having a terrible day yesterday, when he came across the ad for the blizzard, and sent the email that started this all. When he didnt reply to the email he got back, tommy sent another: "What's the matter you're not tough now that I exposed you for being the irresponsible mentally ill weirdo you are ? Did someone abuse you when you were little ? Is that why you are on your ignorant delusional little self righteous tangent ?"
That's a little much, I think. Tommy, you're awfully defensive over a procedure you claim to have absolute faith in, so much so that you're trying to push it on everyone.
The fact that you're trying to goad Kris into an argument speaks volumes to the type of person you are. I told myself in the beginning that this was a pointless discussion, and I know without a doubt that nothing will change your mind. So I'm done here.

This Tommy Blake fellow is obviously a troll that knows nothing about venomous snakes, much less venomous husbandry. Y'all have given him exactly what he wants. Ignore him and he'll go away. Take care, Marty

You know that venomoids are controversial. There is no point in arguing with you so all I will say is if you want to keep venomoids, go ahead but don't try and tell us that it should be accepted. Just keep it to your damn self and leave it at that. There is no reason for you to be stirring this up.

I have to say that this forum seems to be a little biased to me . How is this Karl H. Betz fellow going to say that this Tommy guy was the one who started cursing when what trigged this whole thing is that someone sent him an email calling him a "stupid deuchbag" for trying to sell his snake ? something he has a legitimate right to do ? I would be pissed off as well if someone did that to me. People should have a right to post ads here without being harassed he didn't do anything wrong and he was just reacting to what these people started. Plus you people have been calling him names throughout this whole argument he actually seems like he was trying to keep his temper. Use provoked this and now you want to point finger at him ? I know if people were sending me letters from this site cursing me I would either contact the domain master and leave I think everyone here has made good points and people should be able to do what they want with their animals. I know plenty of people who have venomoids and this seems a little uncalled for the animals seem fine to me and its pretty cool to experience a cobra up close and personnel like that. Plus it's good for the economy ! You go Tommy I support you !
