A few weeks ago, the Ontario provincial government called an election which means that all the bills currently being read in parliament but not yet passed will DIE!!
This includes the bill which would soon ban all 'non native' exotic animals to anyone without a license, and make licenses virtually impossible to acquire for 'dangerous' species. It's ironic to ban non-ative species, since it is already illegal to keep any native species as a pet... Could this bill have meant the ban of all private pet ownership?
Well it doesn't matter... because the bill is dead! At the very least, this will buy us some more time to regroup and fight the AR people... provided no more exotic owners get eaten by their tigers (an event in Southern Ontario which originally spurred the bill).
