I am currently working on revising the snakebite protocols for my employer (fire/rescue). I am looking for any antivenin banks in the southeasten U.S. I am aware of the Miami and Winter Park banks. Are there any others? Also, how can I find out how many people in my area are liscensed to keep Hots? I need this info in order to justify the local hospital keeping some on-hand. Thanks in advance.

You neglected to mention what state you are in. Were I you, I would contact the agency in your state that issues licenses to keep venomous snakes.
Also, you did not mention whether the antivenin you wanted the local hospital to stock was for exotic snakes or local snakes. If it is local snakes, they should carry it regardless of how many people in the area maintain collections. Most hospitals do not know how to properly treat snakebite anyway, even if they have antivenin.

Hi Matt, I see from your profile you are a figherfighter/paramedic in FL. I am not sure you could get the info on who is keeping hots. And you living in FL. your hospitals would have it easy to get antevenin. even for exotic snakes. the best in the US. Good Luck mate.
