I was wondering if anyone has experienced any sudden snake deaths in specimens purchased at the Columbia Show this past weekend? My self and a few others have had boas, pythons, and vipers die off today, however elapid species have thus far been exempt. These snakes have not been in contact with each other and was just trying to figure this one out and hope it is an isolated incidence and coincidence and not a resurgence of one of the wonderful viruses or retroviruses. If anyone else has experienced this your input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Me too, Don !
I know some of the details of several recent cases involving the Repticon shows, but John is definitely the person to talk to.
Take Care,

Mine are doing well also. Got in a hurry and tried to feed the baby eyelash right away. No success, but I believe she will do just fine.

Thanks for all the responses. I am glad to know that all your animals are doing fine, I guess it was just bad luck with my snakes. Thanks again for all the replies I really appreciate all the input.

Shane,
3 separate individuals myself included. All lost only specimens purchased from the show and none of the new purchases ever came into direct contact with each other. We were at the show on different days. All specimens were in quarantine at time of death and had been re-hydrated and warmed
My Losses:
1.0 Adult Dusky Pygmy S. miliarius
0.2 2011 Eastern Diamondback C. adamanteus
1.0 Timber Rattlesnake C. horridus
Net Loss of Others:
5 Normal Ball Pythons
2 Milksnakes
1 Blood Python
1.0 Canebrake C.horridus
0.1 Timber C.horridus
Thanks,
Ryan

That's a lot of snakes to lose all at once like that. Did any of them come from the same vendor?
