Drew,
I never said your occupation did, simply suggested it. I know I have asked 5 different PCPs and all have said no. Most of them that I met told me pretty much, I was simply dumb for wanting to own venomous and they were not willing to put their name on a non FDA approved “study drug” and just hope for the best.
I never said I didn’t need some schooling on a Mamba before owning one. I never even considered owning one because of my knowledge of the their aggressive nature, really hot bite and lack of hands on experience until this situation presented itself. I just simply let wanting to help do the right thing get the best of me. To be honest I was bitten before I ever took custody of the animal was actually trying to property secure it before he and I did anything else.
I am trying to lay low but will not back down from being attacked behind news allegations and them misrepresenting factual information. I never posted this add someone else did I just defended my name and will always sound off when backed into a corner.
Thanks,
John

Drew,
Don’t mean to bring up a bad point but this article started because I too was willing to take care of this animal and it is alleged to involve an illegal transaction.
The state and or many like it is not “evil” at all but some people use its lack of restriction to sell these animals legally, but not properly. I don’t want to continue this debate over this but my heart was also in the mind of what was best.
As for the kid’s name I am sure it is in my legal best interested not to post it as this is currently an active criminal investigation and DNR, U.S. Fish and Game will probably think that would hinder the investigation. I.E. pass off evidence or something and I totally want to keep them as happy as possible without digging my hole deeper. However, lets just say he to is a member of another online forum and often post sales online, some of the time for illegal animals in his home State, until he is informed. Also don’t worry the investigators have all of his information and I didn’t have to give it to them. These forums and emails, text messages and phones used for these deals can be found if something goes wrong. Hell I had people in the venomous world from States as far away as Wyoming calling to tell me U.S. Fish and Game was asking them question about deals I made with them from almost two years ago. So in the end he will be found and I honestly hope he has the snake so he is forced to tell them who and where he got it from because that is where this started.
Thanks,
John
And again sorry about the bad media attention to the hobby and my unwillingness to expose some of the possible details in this criminal matter.

After reading this thread earlier, I inquired if JRose was the real deal and was assured that he was. My source did not want to elaborate, and I don't blame him. All the SC bashing still puzzles me. This happened in south coastal Georgia, right? JRose now doesn't seem to know where the mamba is at this moment. How in the world does he know where it originated?

Don,
I knew it was to early for everyone to just let the issues and gripping to stop.
Here are some short answers to your questions and concerns because I am sure I have answered them in past post.
“All the SC bashing still puzzles me.” No one ever bashed S.C. I said then and say again I support the State’s outtake on giving its citizens the right to own and possess anything they want. The issue I have is when breeders/dealers and sellers use states that have no regulations simply to make a dollar and ensure the sale is legal. The finger pointing towards S.C. has came from personal experience in this hobby where I too use to go to this same states because, I wanted to buy venomous but lived in Fl and was to young for the needed permits to do so. So in away I too am guilty of using this system but I at least knew or had a relative idea as to what I was doing, my legalities, the animal’s needs and the protection of persons not keeping venomous. This kid had no of this and was simply allowed to buy the questioned animal because he showed an I.D. that showed he was 18. Also when you add to the fact this kid told me he lives in N.E. Ga near the S.C. line, I think it is reasonable to point the figure to that area as to where the transaction first happened. As posted before I am sure this is not the ONLY place this happens but it is one of the main ones that I have personally witnessed.
“This happened in south coastal Georgia, right?” I never confirmed or denied that, you guys followed the news version of event. I will confirm that I was closer to the GA hospital that triaged me, put me on life support and sent me to Jacksonville, Fl. I simply understood my life was in grave danger and I needed medical attention ASAP and my life was worth more then the gamble for me to drive myself to the hospital I eventually made it to.
“JRose now doesn't seem to know where the mamba is at this moment. How in the world does he know where it originated?” I don’t know where the animal is because I needed medical attention ASAP, but I do know it was secured when I left. Also, I can give you almost a 95% guarantee this is where it was sold at first just of basic knowledge of this hobby, the south sector and were the animal finally met me. Only if I was actually there would I of been able to testify 100% eye witness to the originator. You guys were quick to make the same type of assumptions with the information presented to you but get mad when I do the same even if it was by educated guess.
Trust me I am the real person or would not waste my time doing all of this typing.
Thanks,
John

Don,
If it makes you feel better please forget I mentioned S.C. and we can go with unregulated states. I started off using this state as an example of where these type of deals happen simply because I wanted to speak only on what I personally have seen happen, and with an educated hypothesis. I actually just don’t want the community to continue to allow sales to of such hot nature to such inexperienced persons in these areas simply to make a dollar. If we don’t fix it, the government will and in the end it affect the rights of those in the hobby who live in that state. Other then that I have no care because to put it plan I live in a state that already has a permit system, also I am permitted so my rights will not be affected. Hope this clears up some things.
Thanks,
John

I hope this is it because tomorrow AM I plan on totally letting the issue rest no matter who has questions. This is simply because I feel like I have given more then a needed amount of explanation and know I cant make everyone happy.
Thanks,
John
