I know the warmer temps were slow coming in to many parts of the country, even here in North Georgia it was one day cold, next 2 days warm, then 3 cold, etc. But we're well into June now, how about some reports on road cruisin, tin flippin, etc., from around the country. (no GPS co-ordinances needed, just a general NE such and such a state, SW another state is fine.) Let's get this forum going. So far, I've only had the chance to get out once, last weekend. Nothing crawling, but several DOR's. All Black Rats. I am on the road a lot for work and have moved several snakes and turtles off the road, mostly Black Rat snakes. Hopefully here soon, I'll be able to get out more. Next week I'll be in Florida with my family, but I will take at least one day to go cruise some roads. Take care, Marty

I've been out about 4 times here in north east P.A. And I have not seen anything but wood frogs and Fowlers toads. Im going down to Fla. in a few weeks. I'll get down to the Everglades but the Mosquitos are usually brutal there in July. Up here it's still 60 degrees one day and 80 another.

Had a look around west texas / big bend region in May. Hardly anything moving at all. Not even the many many atrox that are usually seen crossing the roads. Temps were good, moon was almost right (quarter moon going into new moon. In 4 nights only saw 2 atrox, 2 subocularis,1 emori, 1 pituophis at night. Saw a couple of red coachwhips during the day and a blur of a patchnose hightailing it, 2 atrox also during the day. Otherwise dead. No DOR even.

This year has been truly epic for me here in Va.
First I stumbled upon a previously unknown Horridus den in the middle of May, which brings the total up to 6 dens I know of within 30 minutes of my house.
I am currently up to 27 Timber sightings (not including denning animals), 13 Copperheads, good number of Black Rats, Corns, Ringnecks, Worm Snakes, Broad Head Skinks, Five Lined Skinks, Coal Skinks, lots of Boxies, etc.. It has also been an exceedingly good year for amphibians.
This is the first year in over 3 decades that I have encountered more Timbers roaming about than Black Rat Snakes, but I'm certainly not complaining.
I've felt truly blessed this season.
