A friend of mine told me about this post (pretty good). I am a christian (baptist). I don't keep snakes, nor do I participate in this forum much anymore. But I am a christian and study herpetology.

Well Tom, I have to admit I have been a poor example of what it means to be a christian myself. It can be a struggle sometimes. It's a good thing that the price has already been paid.

dear Tom,
Just remember that God comes first in everything. Don't let anything get between you and him, not even family. a lot of people don't understand that god is our friend and that we can talk directly to him. so when ever you can or want to, just talk to him, ask him questions ask him to do things in you life. I'll be praying for you.

I am Pentacostal. Used to be general baptist. Absoultly loved the Passion for the Christ. I have a wonderful wife who keeps me in line and has given me a beautiful daughter.
Right now I keep
1.1 Leucistic texas rats.
1.1 yellow anacondas
0.2 adult green anacondas
11ft and 9.5ft(needing a yearling male here)
1.0 coastal carpet
1.0 yellow head retic
13 ft
0.1 adult brazilian rainbow (needing a sub adult male)
1.0 yearling rhinoceros viper
0.1 yearling albino monocle cobra.
1.1 adult Indian pythons
(didn't breed this year but hoping for next season)
1.0 diamondback terripen

I think there are a lot more Christian snake keepers then not. a lot of the web sites you visit like Ray hunters, and many others are Christian owned and or run. I do not go to church. But I am a Christian and I believe and trust in the lord.

Im rather surprised to see so many christains. Its nice to know.
Although I mention my christianity, Im not near as close as I should be, or used to be. I love this new church, however it would help if I actually went more than rare occasions....
Ive done alot of bad stuff, its almost difficult to go back like its ok. I know its too late to right my wrongs, but I also know its accepted, and thats why things happened the way they did.
Im trying to make my way back, It makes me excessively angry or even aggrivated that I have trouble turning back to god, which used to be such an enjoyable, easy thing to do.
Now that I look at this post, it has little piont to it, but it felt good to say in this group atleast....

I can completely relate to you brother....It's only ONE step back to the father. Most of our barriers are in our own hearts and minds. For ALL have sinned and come short of the glory of God.... If we were perfect then none of us would need a savior in the first place.
It's encouraging to see so many other christians involved in the hobby that I love with all my heart.
