i never ever have consider myself an expert. I have know many guys who have had horrible experiences and well said Karl. I never say anything i dont know. When I handle a mamba or taipan some day then i will say how to keep them. I just know some things not everything. Now i have met people who keep venomous snakes and i get advise and desciption. I think their really are no experts. You will always learn new thing and that is what science is. I just try to help people on things that i have an really go idea about.

Lots of people see this forum, but unfortunately many of those who could be considered experts as far as breeding, importing, taipans whatever just dont respond for whatever reason. Though I dont agree with 15yos giving advice on keeping taipans (or myself for that matter lol) I do agree that for many these forums are a basis for pursuing more of an education in herpetology. I have kept snakes half of my life, and I started working cleaning cages for a major importer when I was 14 and worked my way up. My BS is in Biology with my focus in Zoology (herps). I have hunted and captured snakes from Miami to Maine and frisco to kentucky, and I dont think I know anyone, zookeeper, importer etc who knows everything about snakes. My concern here is having people give misleading info (and in this area of work it can be lifethreatening) and thus causing ripples through the community. Therfore, if ya dont know for sure dont say you do. Overall I have watched this site grow, from the first day and it seems to have succeded in doing what it was supposed to do, educate the public. Personally I would try and post more, but with a room full of hots and working 40+ hours a week in the vetrinary hospital I really dont have the time. Just my 0.2,
Jared Watts
