What are switch boxes and how can I utilize them? I have an eyelash viper and I don't want to stress her when I clean her tank.

A switch box is a seperate enclosure that can be attached to the main enclosure so the serpent can be safely isolated. The switch box will have a hole drilled into its side as will your main enclosure. These holes will have some kind of door to prevent the snake from escaping.(DUH!) I haven't found any "switch box" commercial manufacturer and I am in the process of designing my own. (If anyone out there does, please inform me). As for the type of snake you intend to use this for, I really don't think a catch box would be too effective. But I'm sure somebody out there might disagree. Good luck in your endeavors and be SAFE!

I know this isn't new by any means, but what I do is divide the enclosure in half with a plexi glass partition. In my 60 gallon enclosure, I installed a verticle track where a plexi glass door can slide in. Kind of like the box where they saw a lady in half:)... On each side of the track, I have locking screens, so teo locking screens protect and secure the enclosure. On top of the two screens, I have a single, metal screen that fits on top of both of them for double security. When I need to get in the enclosure, I lift off the top screen, slide the partition in, making sure I know where he is, then take off the locking screen on the side I need to enter. It's fool proof and very easy. The only time the partition is in is when I need to get in.
