Interesting survey.
December is a long ways away.
Please come back and remind us (post here) when she posts her summary/results.
I was happy to go and fill it out.
Cheers BGF,
Karl

Fangs mate. Dec is not so long when you consider how long it takes to publish a paper. In addition to how long it takes to finish a scientific study, it takes on average one to one and half years from when a paper is submitted to when the reviewing process is finished and its actually published. This is assuming it even gets into the first journal you send it to. If it boomerangs back then obviously more time is added. In this case, Lexy has been physically handing out surveys while we have been in Europe for the last three months. The online version will run for the month of May. She'll spend June/July/August analysing the results and then August/September/October writing up her thesis. She'll put a summary of the results online in Dec and then spend Dec/Jan writing up a paper to submit. Lots of work ahead for my darling wife ;-)
Cheers

Bryan,
you misunderstand my intention.
I know that they don't just give out doctorates and that thesis work is not easy. It can, in fact, be some of the most tedious paperwork that there is.
I meant December is a long ways away (subjectively) for people whose only contact with the survey will be the 5 to 10 minutes they spend filling their copy of it out.
I am sure that with the pace of the Internet, most people will forget that they even took the survey by the time Lexi gets done calculating all of the data.
So.
All I meant was, whenever it is all worked out, and she has decided that we all are the kids who should have been left in the barrel with the bung permanently stoppered, please remember to post here so we can go and check out her results. :-D
Cheers,
Karl
PS Although your last posted paper was a topic in which I am greatly interested, I have not been able to open it. Got a Word copy you could send me? KHB

Hi mate
aaaaahhh gotcha. Yes, from that perspective Dec is a long long way away.
Do you have acrobat reader installed on your computer? If not, you can download it for free from
http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html
That'll open up the paper no worries ;-)
Let me know if you have any problems.
Cheers

Did you remove the part that said 'remove this' ? ;-) Its bgf@unimelb.edu,.au I've deleted the 'remove this' part from the address in any case since I get so much spam now-a-days, whats a bit more picked up by a few more bots.
email away ;-)
