I dont mean to sound rude but are u caring for them right now? and if you are do you have the proper permits? If you dont should be very careful because that is a protected animal and you can be in serious trouble if you dont have the proper permits.

Well said, Phillip.
Kyle, Gopher Tortoises are protected in GA and FL and shouldn't be moved far from the area where they were found, if for no other reason than the possible spread of respiratory infection.
You can find more information about them at the link to the Sandalwood Gopher Tortoise Preserve at the Jacksonville Herpetological Society's webpage - http://www.jaxherp.org/
Good Luck and Stay Out of Trouble,
Karl

I was going to release it, but before I do I was going get some pics of it eating and others. My camera is kinda messed up so I was going to keep it with my box turtles for a about a week. I knew it was protected but I have friends in high places :). Its a baby gopher turtle and thats one reason I want to keep it inside with the box turtles.

"Friends in high places"?
Let me be very frank with you, Kyle.
The Gopher Tortoise (Gopherus polyphemus) is FEDERALLY protected.
They carry an infectious respiratory disease which may (or may not if you are very lucky) kill other chelonians with which they come in contact.
So, catching and keeping a Gopher Tortoise is against the law.
Keeping it with any other turtles or tortoises is a possible death sentence for them all.
Posting about keeping federally protected animals is just plain not smart.

I did not know of the infectious respiratory disease. Thanks for the info. I released it back where it came from and got tons of pics of it. Maybe my box turtles will be alright since the gopher turtle stayed only 3-4 days with them.
