I know I came across this somewhere but with all of the research I've done, I tend to forget where I saw it last. I'm looking to find the "sexing" practices, how many scales deep is the female...etc. Can anyone steer me to the last place I was *chuckle*. May need to hire me an assistant to keep track of my lists of things to remember before long.
Thanks,
Matt

well im no expert on it but i do know if your probing a snake the probe will go further in on a male than a female the probe usually goes 2-3 scales in on females and males around 7-9 but as far as just going by scale count, im not just positive on that i know on most snakes the male will have a longer tail with more scales on it and a female will have a shorter tail with fewer scales, as far as a specific count i really dont know hopfully some body will be able to elaborate on that I hope this little bit of info helps

Shane,
That's exactly what I was looking for. I had remembered the 7-9 scales on the probe, but couldn't remember whether that was for the males or females. Kudos to the FAST responses! Thanks guys, I do appreciate being reminded on occassion, when my memory is fleeting.
