I am interested in learning more about this species and wether or not it is available to the public. I read about it on the venomdoc page and would love a snake that resembles a king cobra without the extreme danger of being bitten. This snake does look like a good match. Any information would be appreciated.
BS.

P. carinatus can get incredibly large (up to 4m) and can be very aggressive...or defensive might be a better word. They may not have the venom of a king, but they like to aim for the face and are more than capable of nailing you there before you even know what happens. They have very strong jaws and you are in for a LOT of pain if you get bitten. They are "venomous" so to speak, and you may suffer a reaction if bitten. Aside from this, I've never personally seen one for sale. Pytas in general don't appear to be that common...anyway, just wanted to clear up that just because it isn't venomous like a king does not mean it's a cakewalk to maintain.

I am also interested in them and saw them on the same page I am doing everything within my power to locate a male and a female for my self so if I am able to locate one period I will definitely post the breeder/supplier of them also I have done my research on them and though they can be a pain to maintain leather gloves and lots of handling is possible to be able to calm them down so I don’t know if it would actually work but I am willing to use a hook and handle them just as a king if it means having the looks and beauty of one cause they are incredible animals

I got to play with a 2.5 meter Ptyas carinatus yesterday. They are quite a handful - super fast for such a big snake. Faster than King Cobras. Faster than many smaller snakes. Very powerful. Awesome colors. Will put some photos and videos on my site shortly. Cheers!
