injured copperhead "HELP"

I just found a Southern copperhead that i think was hit by a car, he is still in perfect condition besides a little gash rigt behind his head. The gash is not bleeding though. He seems hurt but still has some fight left. I brought him home and placed him in a dark holding box and covered him with a blanket.
I wont be suprised if he dies but what are the chances of him recovering and is their anything else i could do for him to help.

P.S. He is about 2.5 feet if that matters
