It depends. When I scroll down I see something that I might know. If I do I write my opinion. Sometimes even If I dont know about it, it interests me so I learn about something for myself and then post what I learned. Any search engine will bring up alot of info on reptiles.

I guess it depends on who answers you.
Some people have been at this awhile and have learned how to share accurate information.
Others are young and passionate and want to be taken seriously rather than be known for accurate information.
I would say that it is just as important to find out who you are getting information from as it is to get the information.
Cheers,
Karl

hi , the google search engine is good i go on there for additinal information but it depends what your searching for , if you wanted info on crotalus atrox there is loads on google, but if you was searching for Xenocalamus sabiensis you would nt get hardly any info at all. as for your question about do we already know the info , i sit on a libary computer by my self with things i ve learned about reptiles i m not from america so i don t know about these questions on camping in florida or what ever but i do know about the species there.
if you was asking a question about a snake from america you would expect alot of replys but if you was asking about a snake from west africa you probaly would nt get much if any.
so it all depends on what you want to know some reptiles are easy to do research on but others are nt.
MAY BE THIS HELPS

It depends on the question. A lot of questions I can't answer, or I have to research first (usually on the web). Some I know already from all the web research I've already done on the web for my own education/entertainment. Some things, I think I know, but check out bofore openin my big mouth (and occasionally I should but don't). Some things I know by direct experience from maintaining dozens of hot snakes for a few years at a refuge. Some questions just take a little reasoning or math that the person asking didn't happen to think of...
So far, I've found the web, personal experience, and working with a mentor to be the greatest sources of information for husbandry. A lot of this info is availible in print, but I would have spent thousands of dollars by now and far more time searching for info than actually finding it.
