Very interesting, Alex.
Don't you think asking the identity of someone who purposely posts anonymously is kind of odd?
If he wanted us to know who he is, he wouldn't post anonymously.
Kind of like asking Spiderman who he is.
Call him a good guy. Call him a bad guy. He's not going to come out with "Oh hey, glad you asked. I'm Peter Parker."
Good Luck.
I would like to know too but I never would have thought to post and ask.

I asked him at least to tell me why he is posting anonimously or just to tell me that he can`t tell me or maybe he could have sent me an e-mail with the answer. I know it seems odd. He seemes very knoledgeble and i don`t see why he should post as anonimous. Cheers.

I don't know who he is, but I do apreciate his input for the most part when he posts. Although some of the other Anonymous posters are legit in thier posts, I'd say the majority are negative or trynig to be funny. The Phantom is seroius for the most part and I hope he keeps his identity. Makes the board interesting I guess.

Please don't misunderstand me.
I am not a fan of anonymous posting.
But if you check my previous posts on that subject you will find that if an anonymous post is on topic and not derogatory then I usually don't delete them.
Some reasons that I have found for people posting anonymously:
1) I have met at least two zoo employees who post anonymously because their employer's position is that the general public should not be allowed to own venomous snakes. They do not agree but are not willing to jeopardize their jobs over it.
2) Say for instance that someone is keeping something that they are not legally allowed to have but they have information that might be useful to another keeper.
3) I have met 14 year-olds who posted anonymously to appear older and be taken seriously (this seldom works) and I have met 30 year-olds who posted anonymously as 14 year-olds to try to stir up emotional debates (sadly, this usually does work).
4) There are several nicknames in use on this site by people who, due to their professional stature, felt the need to have a persona with which they could say, in no uncertain terms, that 14 year-olds have no business considering owning cobras even though they might have done it themselves.
I am not sure which category "The Phantom" falls into but I am willing to bet that he will eventually turn out to be a well-known member of our society who just wants the freedom to say "Hey, don't be so stupid" without jeopardizing their reputation for cool-headed professionalism. Just in case anyhone should happen to be wondering I AM NOT THE PHANTOM. LOL
I chose my nickname (Buzztail1) in 1998 when I first came online and got to the first site that required me to have a nickname. I stand by my nickname and post my real name and email address with it most of the time.

Hi all.
It is up to "The Phantom" whether he/she posts anonymously or not, after all everyone is entitled to their own privacy!
The Phantom tends to post good advice, demonstrates a good understanding of snakes and is eager to let his/her opinion known, which is great! KEEP IT UP MATE!!
Forgive me and no offense, but... he/she seems to be pretty full of his/herself. I recall a previous post where he/she ended a post with "I have spoken. The Phantom". Maybe he/she thinks they are something special or better than the rest of us?
Regards
Viperman (U.K)
