I live in Boise, ID and was wondering if there are any experienced hot keepers in my area i could have teach me and help me get ready for another species of venomous. I currently have 2 C.Viridis viridis and have gone field herping quite alot. This is the only hot species i have experince with and was hoping that there is someone in my area that keeps hots.
any response would be great.

What are you interested in working with? Naja? Bothrops complex? Your Crotalus is a good start towards a lot of really interesting snakes.
Cheers

I was looking into maybee Bothrops schlegeli or something of that nature. They are very beautiful snakes and the variety of colors the species has is amazing. But this also raises another question i have, would it be wise to go for an aboreal right now or should i stick with the ground until i am more experienced in the "nature" of the hots? The naja and other elapids I don't consider keeping until i am extremely knowledgable in what i am doing. They command a great amount of respect and dedication from everything i have read thus far. I don't feel i am quite ready for them as of now:-). Get back to me if u would:-).
Thanx,
John

I assume that you mean Bothrechis schlegelli, the Eyelash Viper. That was my friend's first hot.
Small arborial vipers like that are often used as first hots. Just gettig them on and off the hooks can be an adventure, though.
Good luck
Roger
