anyone else that has a copperhead notice that if you feed it a live mouse that it hits and holds on until the mouse is dead...i have a canebrake that hits, leaves then goes to get it after it's through fighting....that's how they are supposed to do it to prevent injury but is this just a trait of this one snake or do a lot of other coppers do this too...just wondering...she acts like shes a non constricting colubrid...kinda like a watersnake...

Only one of my copperheads will bite and hold. One of my cottonmouths used to do this as well, but doesn't any more.
