I heard that a few WDB (C. Atrox) have cross Bread with the common Gopher Snake. that would make a venomous gopher snake. Has anyone else heard of such a thing or is it even possible?
Thanks

I don't recommend breading any snakes!
It's not possible for those 2 species to breed.

Yep, be careful, breading might cause animals that are all brown outside and white and soft inside that go bad in a week....those things are vicious!!!!!

Never in a million yrs, not even genetically close. you would have better luck crossing a human with a dinner plate.

I breaded an Atrox one time and dropped it in hot grease for 5 minutes....tasted like a cross between cheese sticks, frog legs and fried chicken. All fun aside, it's not possible for a Colubrids and Viperidae to cross bread, I mean breed. I'm sure there are multiple reasons but just one of them is the fact that one is an egg layer, the other gives live birth. On that subject though, I did see a C. Atrox (male) breeding with a (female) C. Horridus. It was in S.C. in 1999 and I moved to South AL. that same year, so I never saw the offspring and never thought to ask if it was even a successful breeding.

I'm human and I cross with a dinner plate quite well. The offspring is a bloated, miserable couch potatoe.
Gestation is only about 20 minutes.
