another winner....why hold a mamba that way unless necessary......how many bites happen from across the room compared to instances when you're holding it?
MOST people in this hobby simply don't respect these animals anymore...the more popular it gets with the average moron, the more stupidity there will be......i was just glancing through the ads and came across these near the top......i've held edb's that way WHEN IT WAS NECESSARY and i touch my animals every week when i move them to clean their cages, soak them, etc.........never for a picture

That guy must be a complete idiot, mambas are unpredictable by nature, and not exactly the slowest snake in the world ... it would take less than the blink of an eye for that one to tag him ... however being how he listed the copperheads that might not be such a bad thing if it did...

Spickey : Have you ever heard of such a thing as a Hand Tamed Agkistrodon contortrix? “Of Cores Not”. Not one that you could actually Handle without the Fear of getting Bite. I mean come on, if someone has that much Experience Working With and Breeding Venomous Snakes, I don’t think they would be this Dumb, and if they are this stupid, God Help us all.
As for myself, I would not Advertise any Venomous Snake as being Tame enough to hold it in your Bare Hand and not worry about the Snake Killing you.
I completely agree with Ricky and Frank on this one, this Dude is Nuts to ever put such a Snake up for Sale as “Hand Tamed”. I think Hand Loss would be a better description for what would happen to you if you Held this Snake with your Bare Hands, wouldn’t you?

VERY MISLEADING is how I would describe that ad. It gives the impression to someone young just getting into hots that those snakes are not going to bite you. I did not see any other posts from them but I hope they wise up to their ignorant way of describing the animals for sale. Yes, it does sound ignorant. I wonder why he has a weekly "snake milking show"? He doesn't need it, remember, they dont bite :)

I'm not really a fan of how he is holding that snake, but there isn't anything we can do about it. You have to understand that tool Jeff Barringer and kingsnake. They are being paid for a service and all people who pay for their classified's will take precedence over people who don't like what they see in their ads.
Best way to voice your opinion is to not buy snakes from that particular vendor and spread word of their practices. That's why you are starting to see the same snakes by the same vendors week after week. Go to Hamburg and you'll see the SAME snakes and the SAME vendors within 2 or 3 shows.

Actually in the case of the copperheads it is illegal (to sell native species in Va that is).
