I don't think any of it should be ILLEGAL. Who needs a law telling you not to hold a venomous snake? Don't take away our rights here people. Besides, I know some people who have Copperheads that can be held at times. I don't know why though. They were from South Carolina.

ill tell you why, someone that has always wanted to touch cobra but never did the research can just walk up there and hold a cobra. You cant tame a cobra not to bite if the person squeezes it to hard, or gets afraid and try to throw it...Do you really think these people really care if people get hurt... no... they only care about money.

I have two A.c.contortrix that are hand tame and one that is the biggest pain in the tush to work. I have not had any problems with working with the two of them. I pull them out with a hook then tail them to see their temperment if confirmed that they are not aggressive then i can handle them free-hand, not that i do so all the time but have done so in the the past and will continue to do in the future. If you handle a hot like that you must be prepared for the the risks I dont advise to, and doing so I also realise that alot of hot keepers would protest to this but it is my choise and there are alot of snakes that it would not be wise to handle in such a way even if you had the cohonahs to do so I am not careless but very cautious and know my animals very, very well
no offense to any herper
this is just my opinion
