my female is usually roaming the cage pretty regularly and she has regular bowel movements so im guessing shes usually hungry. sometimes shell even act hungry after her 2 rats lol. and she seems to be of a good mass and muscle tone to me. not too fat and not too thin. i think the feeding schedule shes on right now is working pretty well for her.

I would agree. If the snake is hunting, it is probably hungry and probably should be fed. If it is not moving about, then it probably does not need food. Just remember that if it is hungry, it will eat all you feed it, even if it is too much. So it is up to you to limit the amount it gets at each meal.
