With the heat and humidity so high are reptiles still being seen in Texas and Florida as much? I mean despite all of the fires and wind storms? And if reps are still seen then what and what time of day?
I only have found 2 Black Rat Snakes, 3 Eastern Milk Snakes, 3 Eastern Garter Snakes, 4 Ringneck Snakes, 3 Black Racer Snakes, 5 Brown Water Snakes, 2 Queen Snakes, 1 Worm Snake, 1 Redbellied Snake, 5 Fence Lizards, 12 American Toads, 2 Grey Tree Frogs,12 Spring Peepers.
Looking to go on vacation soon and want to know if I will see anything while I am out.
thanks in advance...Shawn

Heat in Texas is never an issue. The rain does put a damper on some of the activity though. What we have been seeing so far is cooler weather hanging on and this has put a crimp in the night-time activity somewhat, but they are still moving. We have a longer season for some species such as Milk snakes, so that's a plus. The rattlesnakes, eh they don't seem to mind at all except on the rainy nights. The turtles seem to be having a little more of a time finding places to nest this season with all the saturation, lots of wayward females as of late. I'm hoping it'll dry up soon and heat up for some decent night cruising.
