What do you guys suggest cleaning cages with? I've been using old fashion soap and water, is there a product out (inexpensive and easy to get) that might make inbetween cleaning a little easier? thanks

Steve, Soap and water still work quite well for cage cleaning, just try to avoid scented soaps if possible.
I would also avoid antibacterial soaps, as continued use of these can actually help create resistant strains of bacteria.
Many keepers use a 10 % solution of clorox and water. That works well, but you will probably have a bit of lingering clorox odor even after rensing, so air out the cage until the smell is gone.
Veternary supply stores sell a number of excellent products for cleaning animal enclosures. Some are ammonia based, some are clorine based, and some are iodine based. All work well. All come in concentrates, and can be diluted to various concentrations.
Try Google for vet supplies, then search cleaners, and you will find many dozens of good products. Most of these work very well, but are going to cost more than clorox bleach.
Best Regards

For areas that I need to disinfect I sometimes use a 50/50 blend of hydrogen perovide and water. It makes a good spray, goes away fairly quickly, and leaves no residual.

Try some of the Chlorhexidine solution. I have been using the 5% solution for some time. Very little odor and once it is dry, you can allow your animals back in the enclosure without having to rinse. I will try to post the manufacturer's name tonight.

I use dilute Chlorhexidine. I have heard from some of the big Burm breeders (who have snakes that really make a mess) that Listerine works well too.
