Im with J money on this one. The end is here kiddies, Im taking my Ak, rounds, and my hots and heading back to the center of lake drummond. When I originally got on this website in the late 90s I never thought I would see the day it came to this. Our current course is insufficient and polluted, I choose freedom and MY GOD DAMN WAY OF LIFE.

any of u know what is the 'reptiles of concern' registration FWC compliance? I read somewhere that with dog registration/licensing it can be as low as 10 percent of all dogs registered only, nationwide average

If it really is green mamba, not good, as in this case, it would be snake at large attacking innocent public, NOT the owner being attacked, owner who willingly assumed the risk, aka no longer just occupational/hobby hazard. Hope he recovers...quickly

I am still suspicious of this story.
If the cable guy says it was a 3 foot long snake, then it is likely that it was 18 inches long.
Green and yellow sounds more like one of the temple vipers than a mamba.
If there was facial paralysis, numbness, and breathing problems, that does sound like a Elapid bite though.
But, if there was the swelling of the arm they talked about, that goes against the mamba bite idea.
The snake coming out of the tree to bite the fellow does sound like a pissed off mamba.
But would doctors give Elapid antivenin when it could be one of many hundreds of venomous snakes that folks in Florida might have ?
Whole thing is mighty suspicious.
I sure hope they find the snake. It should be right there in the same area. That would be the best thing.
Best Regards

A group of permitted keepers will be moving in on the area to try and find the offending snake. Archie, it's a Dendroaspis...no question. All the symptoms are classic for what one would experience in Dendro bites. I didn't want to believe it either, but the facts are the facts. While I'm still skeptical until a snake is found, you can't argue with it.
The problem is, you can't regulate someone who doesn't have a permit. This person probably had it shipped in via Fed Ex or UPS from an unscrupulous dealer (which there's no shortage of). Luckly, the media hasn't made THAT much of it. It could be alot worse.

John, I know of quite a few Dendroaspis angusticeps and Dendroaspis jamesoni kaimosae bite cases that have produced swelling. That's not out of the norm.
