I recently read an account of a 69" inch cotton. What is the largest cottonmouth you have seen? Anything over 4 foot seems rare. Do any zoos/serps have a huge piscivorous?

Which species?
I had a male leucostoma that was 48" which I donated to zoo exhibit. It was too large for me to use in my educational programs.

I once found a road killed cottonmouth in the Florida panhandle that was over 6 feet long, and about as big around as your leg.
What is interesting,is that the snake was found at a bridge just as you came into a little town.
It is possible that huge snake had lived under that bridge for 30 or 40 years before it decided to venture up onto the road.

Species really doesn't matter. Although 48" sounds huge for leucostoma. Was always under the impression that was the smallest subsp. Which zoo? Still have it?

well i saw one over six feet, i have kept one that was over 48 inches for a while and as big as my forearm, not only that he was a hypo! arin

I've seen a few in collections that were pretty impressive. I've been looking for one 5ft+ for quite awhile.

I have seen one at least 6 footer in the wild. It was over thirty years ago and still remains the largest native (USA) venomous snake that I have seen.

He is on display at the Cameron Park Zoo in Waco, TX.
They have him in the "Brazos River Display".
