Anyone have a current email for Dr. Grismer (or anyone else that might have some insights into the illicit reptile trade in SE Asia)?
Not so much looking for 'wild caught' for pet trade, but for people involved in studying and/or curbing trade in ye wei, skins, traditional medicine, etc.
Thanks!

Just wondering if anyone's seen the current issue of National Geographic [cover photo of bionic arm]. There is an engrossing article in there re. the Asian wildlife trade with a focus on reptiles, and a profile of Anson Wong.

That was great. Staggering the volumes he's talking about. It's ironic how an evolutionary metabolic advantage now, with the advent of global trade, actually disadvantages the snake.
In the same vein, could I also suggest to folks the web-based libraries at bushmeat crisis task force and at traffic.org? Both really interesting (if sometimes depressing...)
