Lmao ahahaha captive organisms.... I can't stop laughing I am actually crying lol. Why are you people so stubborn ? Justadmot it is a pet. I will admit handling the snake may agruably stress out but when I open my snakes cage he either thinks he is getting fed or held and seems enthusiastic about both. I also believe he like his habbitate and may wonder away do tongue fact that he is a stupid snake but is generally a happy snake in his cage. But to reward this let me put it this way: if a guy walks into a pet show, buys a venomous snake, just for pleasure doesn't want to breed it or use it for anything, buys a cage and all the supplies for it, is it a pet ? Can you people actually admit you are wrong on this one ? Come on come out of the closet you know they are pets just admit it. It will be good for the PET trade!

Awww, Tommy, is that all you want? For someone to admit they are wrong, that you are right, you are better, you are so smart? Give it up guy. I knew from the get go it was you. How silly of me to think there could be a civil discussion. You need to learn to reign yourself in, and you might do very well at 'discussions.'
You do realize what I mean when I say this is a semantics discussion? I can call a stapler a goat all day, but that doesn't change what it is. Labels are just to simply life, buddy. A word doesn't define an object. An object just is.
I don't know why you are chomping at the bit to blow up the pet trade with hots. I understand that opening the hobby to more of the public might increase acceptance and get you more of the all mighty dollar, with your devenomization sales and whatnot. I still firmly believe that not everyone should have a snake, much less a venomous. They are so far from what society views as a pet. Hypothetically, lets say that you start selling venemoids to anyone and everyone, and the trade picks up. People will buy them just because its new, different, exciting, and yet safe. And quickly lose interest. And then we have a bunch (more) of neglected animals, careless owners, and a market flood. And what happens when a snake regrows its glands, when someone is bitten?
Quit pushing, Tommy.

Why do people insist on being trolls? Your not going to get to many well thought out answers from the members here as long as your profile remains empty. Also, your posts are a bit hard to follow at times due to poor grammar and an inability to complete a sentence.

" As far as snakes "enjoying" being handled, that is a whole different debate I do not want to get into, but seems to be quite a delusion some folks have. "
EXACTLY, Charles !
Tommy, your first post gave it away. I too was well aware of who this 'poster' was. Your incoherence shines through with every post.
So, Tommy had a profile of his own, and created TWO more on the last thread, trying to self-support his ridiculous ideas. And, has now created yet another username, trying to defend himself as if it were someone else posting.
Pretty damn sad when the only person who agrees with you is yourself!
Isn't it..?

well i for one dont consider cobras a pet, i guess you could call them that if you want. as for the whole thing with the snake being excited that you opened the cage and that he thinks he's getting fed or held is funny. you give them to much credit, im sure you believe the snake also has feelings for you right? like it misses you when you're not around lol.
i dont know tho that tommy person is but if its that kid in the video trying to show off with a venomoid i would not use him as an example of how to keep venomous snakes or venomoids. i dont have a problem with venomoids if a person is getting it to have alittle extra protection while they still handled it like its venomous, but for a dumb kid to get one to make a youtube video so people think hes cool is a different story.
hey exist i havent seen you in a long time how are you?

This happened many years ago. Venomoids were a big fad at every reptile show and with many of the online vendors. Many took a stand to never sell venomoids or to get rid of the one's they had to never sell them again. You'll always have your shady dealers who are looking to make a quick buck...venomoids, selling illegally, selling to 16 year olds, selling to inexperienced keepers, etc, but the simple fact remains, venomoids will never be the fad again no matter how hard d-bags like this push for it.
Let him blow off whatever steam he has to and don't let him get under your skin. He's not the majority and all he's looking for is some ears....ignore him, he'll go away like they always do.

Sounds to me like the troll is back.
Snakes are NOT by ANY definition defined as "domesticated". They are NOT pets, merely captive animals. I've been doing this professionally, in zoos, venom labs and others for years. I "enjoy" keeping my snakes better than most do. Still, they are my animals, not my pets. My three labs, yes. My snakes? No.
And before you even ask....No a "venomoid" does not make it domesticated either.

" Why is mentioning Tommy a concern ? He probably knows more about snakes than half the people on this site. "
This is THE single most comical, and truly hilarious comment that I have EVER read on ANY website, EVER.. Period.
