I agree with Karl and John. All venamoid folks aren't trolls. But any pro venamoid post on this site would most likely only be done by a troll. (Unless maybe they had just stumbled upon this site without ever having heard of it before) If ignored they will not have their fun, and go away. In the future just direct them to any/all previous venomoid threads without comment, and forget about them. Take care, Marty

I fully agree. I personally am always interested in a good conversation about reptiles (or any nature-oriented subject). I even enjoy a good debate, when logical. I don't mind a "venomoid" debate for that matter. Every person is entitled to an opinion. It's no secret that I have plenty of opinions myself. Not all are based on science, some are simply my personal opinions. Nothing wrong with this.
However, if a person chooses to project their opinion in an argumentative fashion, or try to mask that "opinion" as fact, they should expect a lively debate and fully expect to be called up to back-up those assertions.
I myself am a "purist" when it involves herps. My "personal opinions" on hybrids, morphs, venomoids, and other aberrations that distract or pollute the integrity of the animal as a species are well-known. I am drawn to, and enthralled with the animal as a species, what it is, what it has become over the span of its existence and how it intertwines with the rhythm of the natural world. I am excited to become part of THEIR world, to explore, to understand and ultimately admire each species based upon their very presence. I feel it is a shame to try to turn this around be forcing a species to be what I personally want them to be, how I want them to act, to conform to my personal selfish cravings. Basically force it to become a puppet in MY world.
However, this is still my personal opinion and thoughts on the matter. If I don’t agree with a “banana-candy-caned, triple mocha het blizzard king snake…. I won’t have one in my collection. Just as I wouldn’t have a hairless cat, a white tiger, or drive a Smart car. To those who do, knock yourself out! Besides, I have a pair of pure-blooded saltwater crocs that will eat them all.>;) That’s how I roll.

When I was a young Man, I was told what part of town to stay out of unless I was looking for trouble. There is no question what this Web site is about. And you can read any three post and know that most of the members are very dedicated to venomous reptiles. It is very clear that a pro venomoid post is like going to the wrong side of town looking for trouble.

Good point E.C.
There are some places folks should just not go.
The Steve Earle song Taneytown comes to mind.
Best Regards

And yet MOST of us would rather be walking down Steve Earle's "Copperhead Road".
