Description: The Russell's viper, Daboia russelli, is not a very forgiving snake when stepped on. Unfortunately sandals are the most common footware. While we were out looking for snakes in the jungle at night, we would commonly pass people wearing sandals with no flashlights, walking casually as if they hadn't a care. Excluding the danger factor, the Russell's viper is quite a beautiful animal.
