Potency
|
Actually vipers it is in the top rankings, but its behind the golden poison arrow frog and the box jelly fish and a few others in potency. Not trying to burst your bubble just a tiny interjection.

if you voted "other" for an australian snake then if you didn't know this all venomous snakes in australia are related to cobras.

Fea's
|
It would be nice to have a fea's viper. I'm a kid and i'm new to this site. But I know alot about snakes. My dream is to own a venomous sea krait. I think it would be really cool, after all it has the most potent venom found in nature!

Not so well known...

Mangs are incredible and feas are a one of a kind, but one of my favorites that is not well known and is just amazing is Parias Sumatranus. Check it out if you have never seen them they are screamers!

solid lime green eyelash
|
Tom Crutchfield had a litter of SOLID lime green eyelash tree vipers for sale in 1990 for $80 each. I have never seen any since. They were incredible looking but it was before I had a permit. Nobody else I've talked to has ever seen one.

I'd like to give the Fea's viper a chance. They are a montane species with similar husbandry requirements to Mandarin Ratsnakes; which I've been fortunate enough to do well with with wc specimens.

First, you have a great first name, and your profile is rather spurious.
C'mon dude, make this serious, also, change your profile and tell the truth for once.

Jared,
You are thinking of A. russeolus. Those and Howardgloydi are in the states. I know 3 people that have them in their collection.

Belize Cantil (cant remember ssp right off the top) and A.b.howardgloydi, because there are pretty much none of those guys in the country. That would complete my " I have produced every ssp of agkistrodon" statement. Though I have kept howardgloydi, they never made it to produce. So many snakes, what about Miklos Vipers? Certain VERY rare crotalus (as I recall certain species only have 1 or 2 specimens ever being found).

I picked the taipan of the Fea's simply because I've pretty sure I could keep the taipan alive. I'm a lot less certain about the Fea's and I'd have to shoot myself if I got one and it died...

Totally OT, but since I have your attention, did you get my e-mail about bringing my science club to the zoo? If you responded I never got it. Shoot me an e-mail to najak82@hotmail.com. Thanks!

Probably Chance!
I DO regret selling off a lot of snakes I should have kept!
I just got bored with them though....
Nowadays when I see some of the ridiculous prices on snakes I just shake my head....

I voted Mang Mt. as I already have a male, I need a female!
Collets are neat, I had 2 pairs back in the 90's and traded them for Bushmasters, I liked the Bushmasters better though.

I voted 'other' because red bellied blacksnakes aren't on the list. To me, a large, very thick-bodied, live bearing elapid that looks somewhat similar to our eastern indigos would just be phenomenal. Aussie copperheads and collett's snakes would be pretty high on the list as well.
