King Cobra X Yellow Anaconda
|
Seriously...a cobra the length of a small bus would be absolutely incredible. I suppose "Cobraconda" or "Anaconbra" or "Hooded Anaconda". I'd love to have one, but I have no clue how I'd contain him and feed him safely. 0_0;

Super snake
|
For this elusive super snake maybe i will think of two things..it should be able to constrict as well inject venom....so my combination will be a interbreed between a male Black Mamba and a female green anaconda...
I will call it the Black Conda

GIANT TOKAY TAKES THE CAKE!
|
I Realy have to agree with Aquaherp on the BRILLIANT idea (that sparked plenty a giggle this side) with regard to crossing a Tokay with comodo!!! just the thought of hearing that super loud "cack" followed by the sight of this giant of a geko!!i'd give my left nut for something like that ANYDAY!!!It could feed off the cricket/pot belly pig hibrids!!.... LOL! greetings from sunny south africa by the way too!!

Snakes are created the way they are created, cross breeding like that would create the chance of accidental release of the snake and there for would create more of that mix breed, why take the risk?

Supersnakes
|
I'm not sure what people have against hybrids.. just don't turn them loose! I don't think the snakes suffer in their combined phenotype. Still, I enjoy pics of the Gabhinos, the EastCane DiamondBrakes, etc. And of course, Clayton Gex's anecdotes about the Shield Nosed Cobra X Vine Viper = VinShield Vipers.
But, no.. for mine, I would like to see what would happen with a D. polylepis and a B. asper. A HUGE, DEADLY CRACK-BABY of a snake!!!

Bitis gabonica and Dendroaspis angusticeps
|
I think a cross between B. gabonica and D. angusticeps would be quite a snake. Two extremely fast striking snakes...two astoundingly potent venoms...all wrapped up in an arboreal Viperid-Elapid cross that has the world's largest fangs?
I can see it now: the gaboon's natural pattern with a bright green body. It would be an incredible camouflage and a beautiful snake.

Well...
I'm glad to see the majority feel as I do. Reckon snake lovers have an uncommon acceptance for this Creation. Something mainstream society would do well to emulate in alot of area's. Like our Mother Nature. Just 'Let It Be.'
Still, it was a pretty cool question leading to some horrific imagination. Flying Cobra's!

Survey Question
|
"who thought of this, this is just hilarious"-Posted by puffadder7
---------------
I guess I have to take responsibility for the question. I know it does not have any real educational value. I am not trying to spark a debate on cross breeding species or anything it really was just for a little light hearted entertainment. I needed a break from the post of late and "he who must not be named".
I would love to see a 12+ foot Gabby and a horned diamondback would be pure evil but the Mamba/Pygmy cross got my vote. Something so tiny and so fearless - you would never see it coming.
After all haven't you ever wished to be Dr. Moreau at least once?
Cheers - PTK

Green Anaconda x any species Sea Snake
|
what about any sp sea snake and anaconda and you have a possible future biological weapon for the us navy. strongest toxin in the world x the strengtht and stamina and stealth of anaconda and if it was in theaters jawz 5's death could be as a result of this bad boy executing the cartiligde crunch from it's constriction and deadly toxic venom.....woohoo what a whopper this bloke would be.

C.Horridus x Bushmaster
|
i would combine a canebrake rattlesnake with a Busmaster and you would have the longest/largest pit-viper but also the best coloration/chamoflauge pattern. Do you think anyone wants to mess with this guy...can u imagine a 12 footer sprawled out with a massive 13 segmented rattle...characteristic of the canebrake....oh got to love the rusty dorsal stripe. watch out anaconda you are not the only
super snake out there.

I once had this super-backward countryfied redneck tell me that the reason human/sheep interaction was against the law was because it would produce a "shuman". I asked him how many shumans he kept in his barn.

HUGE Rattlesnakes
|
This reminds me of an article I read written in California in response to the USFW Boa/Python inquire. The reporter was talking about how the huge evil pythons were going to cross breed with rattle snakes and eat everyone in California or something crazy like that.
Ridiculous.

I think I *have* an O. hannah X P. reticulatus. At least his huge, scaly, python-like fat butt feels that heavy when I have to shove him into a tall garbage can for cage cleaning.
The movie "King Cobra" featured a 30 foot long hybrid of an "African king cobra" and an Eastern diamondback. I want a pair please!

Personally, I had always wanted to genetically engineer the Tokay x Komodo hybrid. 300 pounds of plaster flying-orange-eyed death coming your way! hehe

Gold's Tree Cobra x Forest Cobra

It would be like a flying Forest Cobra, LOL !
Talk about Cryptozoology, this combo would blow the Chupacabra out of the water.
