Rabbit,
Va has no state laws regarding sale or posession of exotic hots (except Boiga irregularis). NC on the other hand passed an ultra strict dangerous animal law last year which includes all exotic hots.

"thedude"- you are incorrect. There was a very restrictive Animal Rights law proposed in NC... but thanks to NCARK it failed. It has been resubmitted and passed as a study bill. I was appointed by the president of the NC Senate to sit on the study committee. Although this entire issue has been completely hijacked by the Animal Rights Movement, I feel it is doomed to failure. There will most likely be another bill sponsored in the General Assembly in January, but even if that happens this bill will likely be killed in committee (thanks to NCARK and our allies). Bottom line is, the only reptiles that are currently regulated are those native species on the endangered list. There are no laws pertaining to exotic reptiles in NC at this time.

Thanks for the correction. I though that bill had passed. Good for the NCARK and good luck beating that bill and any like it in the future!

Just another reason that everyone here should join NCARK and SCARK, no matter what state you live in ! Support the people who are fighting the good fight. That way, they will be able to help you when the same restrictive anti-reptile bills are introduced in your states! $30.00 is a small price to pay to support the future of your hobby.
